Gene Raymond Tylander, 71, of Jupiter, Florida, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022, at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. Gene was born in West Palm Beach on August 27, 1950, at Good Samaritan Hospital to Raymond C. Tylander and Betty Martin Tylander.
Following graduation from Forest Hill High School, Gene attended the University of Alabama where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. He was a proud member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity just as his dad had been at the University of Florida.
Alabama is where he met and married the love of his life, Alice Dale Smith. They had 3 children, Patrick (43), Andrew (40), and Suzanne (38). All 3 were at his side at his passing.
Gene Tylander was a third generation native Floridian who grew up in the family lumber business in Palm Beach County. After graduating from Alabama, he returned to West Palm Beach and joined his father at Ray Tylander’s, Inc. He was active with the South Florida Fair, where he became interested in gate operation and ticketing. From the age of 10, Gene was fascinated with all forms of electronics and kept up with the latest trends and gadgets. He was always a step ahead in the latest technology, and in 2001 formed TyTix, LLC., a ticketing software company. This successful business venture allowed him to travel with Alice all over the country attending his clients' fairs and special events. A 45' motor coach was their home, and as often as they could they would spend time between Bella Terra in Foley, AL and Ft. Wilderness Campground at Walt Disney World.
Gene is survived by his three children, Patrick Tylander (Lori), Andrew Tylander (Allison), and Suzanne Tylander; his beloved grandsons, Parker and Lawson Tylander; sister, Kathleen T. Wolfe; niece, Kelly Shipp (Kevin), great nephew, Jackson. He is predeceased by Alice Smith Tylander, loving wife of 46 years; and his parents Raymond C. Tylander and Betty Martin Tylander. He also leaves behind his faithful companions, Saban, Bear and Floof.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Big Dog Ranch Rescue WPB or Mitchell County Animal Rescue Inc, Spruce Pine, NC.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 1-4 P.M. at Aycock Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458.
