Glenn G. Schanel

Glenn was born on December 5th, 1948, in Passaic, New Jersey, and grew up in nearby East Rutherford. He graduated from East Rutherford High School, earned his undergraduate degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and completed his MBA in Finance at New York University.

He was the son of the late Dorothy Seiferling and Gerard Schanel.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha Jordan Schanel; his two sons, Scott Joseph Schanel of Hood River, Oregon, and Todd Michael Schanel of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; daughters-in-law, Gina Gonzalez Schanel and Abby Pantalone Schanel; twin grandchildren, Grace and Michael Schanel, and granddaughter, Sabrina Schanel; and his sisters, Donna Schanel of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, and Debra Ruttler of Brigantine, New Jersey.

After moving to Florida in 1989, Glenn worked in banking before founding Schanel and Associates in Jupiter, Florida. He was a dedicated member and officer of several business groups and the Kiwanis Club of Riviera Beach. He also taught at Palm Beach Atlantic University's Rinker School of Business.

Glenn adored his three grandchildren and his great-niece, sending them weekly jokes online and earning the cherished title of "the jokester." He was an avid reader and enjoyed golfing in Florida, hiking the mountains of North Carolina, and relaxing in the Caribbean waters of St. Thomas. Glenn had a deep love for the National Parks, particularly those in Utah. He and Martha recently traveled to Ireland and New Zealand, where they created unforgettable memories together.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 3:00pm.
