Grace Mary Beers, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025 at the remarkable age of 102. Born on February 1, 1923 in Oceanside, New York, Grace lived a long, full life marked by quiet strength, devotion to God and to family and a passion for life's simple joys. She was devoted to her church, lived a beautiful Christian life and prayed daily. Grace loved to travel when the opportunity arose.
A proud graduate of Oceanside High School, Grace went on to work as a dental assistant before she and her husband, Paul Joseph Beers, retired to Florida in 1972. Retirement hardly slowed Grace down. She continued to stay active, working at Jonathan's Landing Tennis Courts office and tending to her gardening. Known for her love of sewing, Grace found joy in creating and mending, often crafting thoughtful gifts for loved ones. Grace was also known for playing game boards and card games with her grandchildren and children. She was also an avid bridge player at Jupiter River Park, where she resided for over 48 years.
Grace was a woman of resilience and grace, whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Paul in 1997 after 51 years of marriage and her sons, Paul Douglas Beers in 1985 and Richard Thompson in 2004.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Crites and her husband Donald of Pompano Beach, Florida and Maureen Koehler and her husband George of Freeport, New York; 8 Grandchildren; 14 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Grace's legacy will forever live on through them and through the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to have known her.
A celebration of life memorial to honor Grace's life and legacy will be held at St Coleman's Catholic Church in Pompano Beach on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 4:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at Don and Diane's home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to any Dementia Foundation in honor of Grace's memory and the compassion that she carried throughout her entire life.
Grace's family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Paul and sons, and that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
