Dr. Carrillo worked as an anesthesiologist at Good Samaritan Hospital for over 25 years, and at JFK hospital before then, and was affectionately known as “Dr. Bill.” At the beginning of his medical career, he served as a Major in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Vietnam at an evacuation hospital where he treated the gravely wounded. A scholar of history, politics, and philosophy, he enjoyed discussing these topics with his friends and family. Most of all, he loved spending time with his beloved wife of 57 years, Matilde S. Carrillo, who survives him.
He is also survived by his children, Arturo Carrillo (daughter-in-law, Monica Palacio) and Maria Carrillo (son-in-law, Jason Bologna); grandchildren, Nolan McGrann, Lucas McGrann, Kayvaan Carrillo, Joaquin Rojo-Palacio, and Cristina Bologna; as well as a cherished extended family.
