

Herb was a loving husband, father, brother, friend to all. A consummate gentleman- a modest man and more. He died after a valiant long time fight with Cancers- he was with family and died peacefully. He is survived by his wife Suzanne and his four biological children and his two bonus step sons. Herb was also a proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren- David, Bradley, Sara, Matthew’s, Kevin, Katherine, and bonus granddaughters: TayLynn, and Nicole. and two great grand children- Hunter and Kayla, and his beloved brother Richard ( Dorothy).
Herb was born in 1932 in Patchogue N.Y. to Charles Kurras and Anna Reuther Kurras, and as a teen his family moved to Mt Dora ,Florida. Herb married Diane Fisher in 1956 and had his four children. After graduating from Florida State University he went to Stetson Law School.
Herb was a member of many business and social organizations. His memberships included- Bal Harbor Club, Kiwanis Club of North Shore, Florida Bar, Corporate Fiduciaries Association, Dade Foundation Board p of Governors, The Commmittee of 100, Ruth and August Geiger Charity Foundation member and of board of trustees and Secretary- Treasurer. Jefferson L. Ford Memorial Foundation- secretary-treasurer. Delta Theta Phi - Legal Fraternity. Delta Sigma Phi - Honorary Business Fraternity.
After Herbs career as Senior Vice President of Sun Trust Banks in Estates and Trusts . Herb retired to Mt. Dora. His wife-Diane passed in 1995 after a long fight with Breast Cancer.
Herb moved to Tequesta and married Suzanne Reynolds Letscher in 2000 and they had many happy times together. Herb and Suzanne enjoyed cruising and Herb had 82 wonderful trips of merit.
Herb loved a light-hearted game of golf with pals,the Oceans, and Fishing- he particularly enjoyed his trips to fish in Alaska with his son -Kevin. He treasured being with his family and friends- he will be misses by all. A true gentleman.
At Herb’s request he would like a Celebration of his life after the holidays.
