

Howard “Howie” Joseph Dobias, 96 of Palm Beach Gardens, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. He was born in Manhattan, NY on July 27, 1921; the son of the late Emil and Anna Dobias.
Howie was educated in the New York school system, graduating from Rhodes Preparatory School. He then went on to attend Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, earning his bachelor’s degree in Engineering. He married Helen Constance Stewart on December 27, 1947, and together they have celebrated 70 years of marriage. Howie served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was employed as an Aerospace Engineer for Pratt Whitney, Grumman for 31 years before his retirement. He enjoyed gaming on cruise ships and in Las Vegas and was a member of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Florence Dobias Paul.
He is survived by his loving wife, Helen C. Dobias; three children, Eileen White (Joseph), Russell Dobias (Dana), and Wayne Dobias (Lori); five grandchildren, Nicole Atkinson, Alex Dobias (Danielle), Christopher White, Keith Hardin and Kevin Dobias. One great grandson, Lincoln Dobias.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, TRUSTBRIDGE Hospice and/or Ahlziemers research.
