Joaquin C. Santos, known as Jack, left us on March 27, 2023 at age 82. Jack was born in Murtosa, Portugal, and came to the United States for a better life. Jack settled in New Jersey, where he lived for part of his life.
Jack was a hardworking man who always used his hands to build and create. He worked in construction and home building, creating custom pools with waterfalls, and providing landscaping services. Jack's dedication to his craft and attention to detail earned him a reputation as a skilled tradesman, and he eventually opened his own landscaping company, Alpine Lawn Service.
In his free time, Jack loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness of the outdoors. Jack's love for hunting and fishing was a passion that he passed down to his children and grandchildren.
Jack's pride and joy were his family, whom he loved more than anything. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. Jack's love for his family was the driving force behind everything he did, and it was the foundation of his character.
Jack retired to Florida to be closer to his family, where he enjoyed spending his days fishing, cooking for friends, family and spending time with his loved ones. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who always put his family first.
Jack is survived by Elaine Santos his wife of 60 years; his daughter, Linda deFreitas (David); his son, Jack Santos (Carolyn); his sister, Maria Costeira; his grandchildren, Jaszmin deFreitas (Tony), Jessica deFreitas, Nicole Kelly (Tom), Jonathan Santos (Isabel), Jennifer deFreitas and great-grandchildren, Victor DiMasi, Noah Santos, Nolan Santos, and Abigail Kelly. His legacy will live on through his family, who will always remember him as a kind, loving, and hardworking man who made a difference in their lives.
To honor Jack’s memory, we are holding a Celebration of Life to be held on April 16, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at his son’s home at 18456 127th Drive N., Jupiter, Florida. We invite anyone who knew Jack to attend and remember his wonderful life.
