Jean Wells

Jean Marie Wells, age 71, passed away on May 7th, 2020 in Riviera Beach, Florida. She was born on October 18th, 1948 in Minneapolis, MN to Walter and Annabelle Burg. She was married to David Schnegelberger since August 3, 2000.

Jean raised her children in Des Moines, IA, lived in Steamboat Springs, CO, on a boat in the Boca Chica Key, FL, and in Riviera Beach, FL. Jean was a successful businesswoman who loved to entertain her family and friends with lavish meals followed by a challenging game of Scrabble. Often saying to her Scrabble challengers, “you must learn to dovetail!” Jean loved gardening, cooking, and traveling. She was a biking, snow and water skiing, and running enthusiast completing 16 marathons and several triathlons.

Jean is survived by her husband David Schnegelberger; brothers Jim Burg and John (Shirley) Burg; children Tanya (Dan Davis) Schettler, Todd (Sarah) Sanftner, Tammy (David) Simpson, Sarah (Chris) Hrusovsky, Scott (Daniela) Schnegelberger, and Jeff (Christine) Schnegelberger; 13 grandchildren Brooke, Morgan, Will, Greta, Anne, Rylie, Sydney, Olivia, Eloise, Claire, Jasper, Sasha, and Shenelle; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

Jean will be cremated on Monday, May 11th, 2020 in the presence of her immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
