Joan C. Wagner Flynn

Joan Wagner Flynn, beloved mother, grandmother and woman of deep abiding faith passed away peacefully in her residence surrounded by her dear family on September 14, 2026 at the age of 96. Born on September 3, 1930 in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, Joan was the only child of her adoring parents, Allen and Ada Gehman Dreisbach.

At age 19, she married her first love, William (Bill) Wagner, on November 19, 1949. Together they built a beautiful life while raising their children and creating a foundation of love that would shape generations. The family relocated to Florida in 1958. In 1965 Joan and Bill set roots in Tequesta and loved and served the community there until each of their deaths. Following Bill’s passing in 1988, Joan was later blessed to find love and companionship with her second husband John Flynn, to whom she was married 13 years until his passing.

Joan was devoted to her church and spent many years serving others through various ministries. Always caring for others, Joan found fulfillment in her occupation as an orthodontic assistant for many years. Joan was an avid reader and a life long athlete. Ever relishing in God’s marvelous beauty of the outdoors, she especially enjoyed riding her bicycle, gardening, and bird watching. She never tired of seeing the Loxahatchee River and Jupiter Inlet, and especially loved the Jupiter Lighthouse and picnics at Dubois Park.

Above all, Joan’s most cherished blessing was her family. She will constantly be in the hearts of her two daughters, Susan Early and her husband Paul of Georgetown, Georgia and Peggy Wagner of Hobe Sound, Florida; her granddaughters, Kelly Daus and her husband David of Glennville, Georgia and Rebecca Stinson and her husband Paul of San Antonio, Texas. She was treasured Grammy to her great grandchildren, William, Peyton, Micah and Jackson Daus and Charlotte, Savannah and John Stinson. Joan was the inspiration and anchor of the Norfolk Road neighborhood where she was loved and greeted daily with waves, smiles and gifts.

A private family graveside service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Jupiter.
