

JoAnne Cottrell Rueckert, 63, died on July 2, 2015 surrounded by her family at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. She is survived by her husband, Robert Rueckert of Palm Beach Gardens, formerly of Westport, Connecticut.
She is also survived by her sister Diane Cottrell Grant of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, her sister Laura Gail Link and her brother-in-law James F. Link of Hilton Head, South Carolina and Trumbull, Connecticut, and her sister Alva Joyce Perkins of Jacksonville Beach, Florida. JoAnne was an adored aunt to ten nieces and nephews and eighteen great nieces and great nephews.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edward Cottrell and the late Laura Shethar Cottrell.
JoAnne was a graduate of Bradford Junior College and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University. She was a long time parishioner of Norfield Congregational Church in Weston, Connecticut. Since 2013, when she moved to Florida she attended the Gardens Presbyterian Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
JoAnne’s generosity of spirit was evident all through her life. The joy of her life was to spend time with her family, her precious dogs, Casey and Sammy and her friends. She loved going to the beach, traveling and being out on the water fishing with her husband, her parents and her friends.
She will be greatly missed by her family. We all loved her dearly.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center in Jupiter, FL. The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 9th at 10:00 a.m. at the Gardens Presbyterian Church, 4677 Hood Road in Palm Beach Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
