

Dr. Nystrom was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 25, 1945 to the late Karl Thorston Nystrom and Sara Steinback Nystrom.
A graduate of Northwestern University and The Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Nystrom had been the Director of Clinical Services in the Division of Hematology/Oncology. He was known as an experienced specialist in a number of areas including breast cancer and brain tumors. He singularly conceived and created the Carcinoma of Unknown Primary Clinical Program at Tufts Medical School. He organized the only clinical and molecularly based program in Boston focused in this area. He was a member of The Algonquin Club of Boston, East India Club, London and Old Palm Golf Club, Palm Beach Gardens.
Survivors include his wife; Gail Nystrom, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, daughters; Wendy Elizabeth Nystrom, Los Angeles, California and Jennifer Anne L’Estrange, Bokarina, Australia, son-in-law Paul L’Estrange, grandsons, William Scott L’Estrange and Nicholas Paul L’Estrange.
