Joseph "Joe" Venci Jr., of Jupiter, Florida, was called home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2026. He was 80 years old. Born on October 25, 1945, in Houston, Pennsylvania, Joe lived a life defined by deep faith, unwavering positivity, and a boundless love for the people around him.
Joe was a devoted man of God whose faith extended far beyond Sunday worship. It was evident in the way he lived each day with a welcoming heart, unwavering kindness, and quiet grace. Through the compassion he showed others, the encouragement he offered during life's most difficult moments, and his gentle persistence in serving those around him, Joe reflected the values he held so deeply in his faith. Perhaps nothing captured this better than his daily devotionals. Every morning, without fail, Joe sent personal messages of faith across more than a dozen group chats, reaching hundreds of people each day. Spanning close family and lifelong friends, golf groups, fraternity brothers of Phi Sigma Kappa, and souls he had simply crossed paths with and never let go of — Joe made sure that everyone in his orbit started their day with a message from The Word. His ministry extended far beyond any set of walls. Those fortunate enough to be in one of Joe's groups know exactly how he signed off — and the world could use a lot more of it. BLESSINGS.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Joe began his career as a teacher and wrestling coach in South Florida, a role that reflected his belief in discipline, character, and the power of showing up for others. Those same qualities that made him exceptional in the classroom would go on to define him as an entrepreneur. In 1976, after two decades of teaching, Joe founded Venci Tile in Coral Springs, Florida — a business built on craftsmanship and integrity that became a true family institution. In a testament to the legacy he built, Joe proudly passed the company down to his son Michael upon his retirement.
At the center of it all was his Wife — the woman who could fill even the quietest moment with meaning, and who, by his own admission, drove him absolutely crazy. He wouldn't have had it any other way. And surrounding them both was the family Joe proudly called his own — splendid, blended, and extended — the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild who made every room louder, every table fuller, and every moment worth cherishing. For Joe, this was the good life — and he knew it.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy S. Glanden Venci; his children, David Venci (Christine) and Michael Venci (Shirley), R.J. Weingartner (Jordann), Michelle White, Bradley Weingartner, Cody O'Callaghan (Madeleine), and Ryan O'Callaghan; his grandchildren, Jackie, Toni, Nick, Serena, Scarlett, Luke, Sophia, and Finley; great-grandchild, Kash; his sister, Rose Marie Sluciak; his brother-in-law, George Glanden (Joanne); and his sister-in-law, RuthAnn Shepherd.
Joe is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joseph and Madeline Venci; his first wife, Cathy Venci, who passed in 2002; and his brother-in-law, Frank Sluciak.
