Julie Freeman, 85, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2020.
She leaves behind daughter Jennifer Markell, sister Linda Crawley, step-daughters Caren Blenkhorn and Sanda Freeman, and grandchildren Rachel and Ben Blenkhorn, sister-in-law Daryl Banner and friends from her youth, Sharon Weiner and Carolyn Osgood. Her husband Robert Freeman preceded her in death. Born in Iowa, Julie came east as a college freshman to attend Rhode Island School of Design, having received an art scholarship in recognition of exceptional artistic ability. She finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Art History at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, while working in cancer research and teaching children with dyslexia to read. Her interest in art and her fine sense of design were expressed in her work as a painter, fashion designer for Oleg Cassini in New York City, and docent at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Later, she became involved in interior design and gallery work in Florida and wrote three novels. For many years she assisted her beloved husband Robert Freeman (Bob)in his jewelry business, Roberts Jewelers of Jupiter, Florida. Bob and she were best friends and were married for over forty years.
Interment will be at Sharon Memorial Park in Sharon, MA. Burial is private. Death with dignity was an important cause to Julie; donations in her honor may be made to:
