Kathleen Anne Cunningham, age 69, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2019 at 11:46 p.m. in her hometown of Jupiter, Florida. She was a native Floridian born April 14, 1950 in West Palm Beach. Kathleen graduated from Forest Hill High School, and received an associate degree from Palm Beach Community College. Kathleen is predeceased by her parents, Harold and Anna Benoit. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Thomas Francis Cunningham, as well as her son Thomas Francis Cunningham III, her daughter Danielle Brancato, son-in-law Brian Brancato, her grandchildren Dylan Brancato, Ethan Brancato, and Julian Cunningham, her brothers Christopher Benoit and Michael Benoit, and her sisters Michele Benoit and Valerie Hill.
Kathleen was a paraprofessional with the Palm Beach County Public School System for 33 years, retiring in 2016. Throughout her career, she worked at numerous schools including Jupiter Elementary School, William T. Dwyer High School, and Jupiter Community High School. The majority of Kathleen’s career was spent working with students in the special education department. Kathleen will be remembered for her love of children and literature. She enjoyed playing board games, reading books, and playing word games online. She also enjoyed attending services at the First United Methodist Church of Jupiter-Tequesta where she had been a member since 1971 and at the Ellijay First United Methodist Church in Ellijay, Georgia where she attended services part time since 2008. Kathleen loved spending time with her family, both in Jupiter and at her second home in Ellijay, Georgia where she also enjoyed watching the wildlife that lived in the woods surrounding her mountain home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Jupiter-Tequesta, 815 E. Indiantown Road, Jupiter, FL 33477 on Saturday, May 18th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at 1300 hrs.
