Ken was a 1969 graduate of Jupiter High School, where he lettered in Football and Track and Field—early signs of the steady competitiveness and determination that would remain with him throughout his life.
For 50 years, Ken worked as a tool and dye maker at Pratt and Whitney, where he helped produce components for the RL10 rocket engine used in the space shuttle program. His work reflected a rare blend of precision, persistence, and practical ingenuity—qualities that defined him both on the job and at home.
An adventurer at heart and a natural problem solver, Ken found deep satisfaction in fixing, repairing, and restoring what mattered to him. He devoted countless hours to muscle cars—especially Ford Mustangs—as well as boats and home improvements, approaching each project with care, skill, and pride. He especially enjoyed showing and caring for his Shelby GT350 and Boss 302, among many others.
Ken’s interests carried him outward as well: scuba diving, fishing, boating, car shows, air shows, and military museums were among the pursuits that brought him joy and kept his curiosity engaged. Through it all, he was known for his warm smile and his readiness to extend a hand in help and friendship. Above all else, Ken’s true passion was his wife, Liz, and his family.
Ken is survived by his wife of 36 years, Elizabeth (Liz) Dombrowski of Jupiter; his daughter, Elizabeth Whisler of Greer, SC; his brother, Mark Dombrowski; his sister, Bonnie Dombrowski; his five Australian Sheppard's—Shelby, Boss, Dolly, Dixie, and Luna—along with a menagerie of birds and cats.
A Celebration of Life to honor Ken will be held on Saturday, June 27th, from 2pm-4pm at Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home located at 1112 Military Trail Jupiter, Florida 33458.
In lieu of flowers please, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or National Cancer Institute.
