He was a proud and decorated twenty-four year veteran of the United States Navy’s nuclear submarine force, a loving and supportive father and grandfather, and a loyal friend to many.
Ken joined the U.S. Navy through the NROTC program at Purdue University to travel the world. He served on four nuclear submarines, including as Commanding Officer of the USS GATO (SS-212) during the Cold War. Of the ‘unclassified’ experiences during his service that he was able to share his most memorable moment was when they jumped the equator.
He enjoyed being active in the local community. His involvement included serving as President and VP of Maritime Affairs of the Navy League of the United States Palm Beach Council. He was also an active member of the Friends of Jupiter and was an avid billiards player with the Palm Beach ACS League.
Ken is survived by sister, Luanne Carson of Hobe Sound, FL; brother, Ned Lee of Ft. Wayne, IN; children, Jake Lee of Hobe Sound, FL, Katie Echazarreta of Reston, VA, Kelly Ordille of Virginia Beach, VA and Michael Ordille of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and twelve wonderful grandchildren.
