Lisa R Taube
June 30, 1959 – April 22, 2021
Lisa Richardson Taube, 61, of Jupiter, FL, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 with her family by her side after a brief, aggressive battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Lisa, also known by a variety of unique nicknames including "The General”, was born on June 30, 1959 to Raymond and Helen Richardson in Bethesda, MD. After graduating from Blair High School in 1977, she went on to work in the law field in Washington, D.C.
A trip to a friend in California in 1981 changed the direction of her life when she met Herman Taube. They wed in 1982, spending the next 27 years together. They moved quite a bit, living in Southern California, Oklahoma, and Seattle, Washington where they welcome their firstborn, Derek, in 1988. Shortly thereafter they moved to Hobe Sound, Florida where they laid their roots and would have their second child, Karla, in 1993. As a mother, Lisa was Derek and Karla’s biggest advocate and would do absolutely anything for them. In addition to being a loving mother to them, she was also a mother figure to an abundance of others.
Lisa had a larger than life personality and a laugh that was contagious. She excelled at connecting with others on a personal level where she was a confidant, a caring ear, and a friend. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found “out and about” with her YaYas, Legal Eagles, colleagues, family, or her many other circles of friends. Lisa loved nothing more than having a good time.
Lisa was predeceased by her mother and father, Helen and Raymond Richardson, and her brother, Dennis Richardson. She is survived by her children, Karla and Derek (Katie) Taube, her granddaughter Mary-Kate Helen Taube, her nieces, Megan (Wendy) Richardson, Samantha Richardson, and Devon Richardson, her siblings, Mary (Dan) Bassinger, Larry Richardson and Mike (Sue) Richardson, and countless friends. We will greatly miss her.
In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) in honor of Lisa and all those fighting this terrible disease. There will be a Celebration of Life for Lisa on May 8th from 12:00 - 4:00 pm at the Gumbo Limbo Pavilion at Carlin Park (West Side) in Jupiter, FL. Food will be provided. We request that you bring your own beverages (and maybe a little extra for Lisa) and a beach chair if you wish.

You knew too much...
You knew when to draw the line and command respect.
You knew time together is a precious commodity, so you would engage even the quietest of the bunch with a warm hug.
You knew what we were up to, yet you cared enough to hold us accountable.
You knew a thing or two about leadership, and you helped so many along their path.
You knew how hard you worked, yet you stayed humble.
You knew what you wanted out of life, and you lived it abundantly.
The year Derek came home from Life For Youth Ranch with an award as the Outstanding Christian Camper pictures you at your best in my mind. The sheer joy on your face and in your tone was most remarkable. The love and pride you put in for your family was second to none. I think you were walking on cloud nine for the rest of the summer! You had so many whiticisms... "My Derek, won OCC? Are you sure you got the right kid?" Then the motherly praise followed gushingly.
I know you are in a better place, but I can't bear to see you go.
I hope to parent my girls half as well as Lisa parented Derek and Karla.
Love, Matt O.

Spending close to half my life with Lisa has created far more memories than i can write about here. Many good times with family, Richardsons, Taube's and ours. I am grateful for our time we could share, our beautiful children. Lisa’s commitment to our children has been unconditional and you will live on in their memories and mine. Rest in peace Lisa.

Whenever I made to Florida she was one of the people I was exited to see and spend time with.
So many great times, some I’m not able to share as I was sworn to secrecy.😎
I remember the cruise to Jamaica many years ago, we laughed so hard we peed our selfs. ( what happens in Jamaica stays in Jamaica) I loved her like a sister, and I will keep her in my heart. I love the way that she loved my mother and my aunt Barbara, they had such a special relationship. My Mom JoEllen holds her in special place in her heart ❤️ as well.
She will be missed, and thought of often.
By so many. That is a testament to the kind of person that she was, and so many people had so much love for her. Godspeed my little angel Lisa, until we meet again.
