Mark C Travaglini

On Monday, June 24, 2024, Mark Carlson Travaglini, loving husband, father of 3 and grandfather of 5, passed away at the age of sixty-nine. Born to Alfonso and Barbara Travaglini in Thordale, Pennsylvania,

Mark is survived by his wife of 48 years, Melissa Travaglini; his three children, Mark (Amanda), Jaime, and Cody (Nasheema) and two older brothers, Gunard (Susan) Travaglini and Fred (Mary-Ann) Travaglini.

Known as “Popi” to his grandchildren, Mark was a man of few words, but loved his family, golf, and fast American cars.

Everyone that knew Mark knows that he was in love with the game of golf. As a young man, Mark moved to Florida to pursue his dream of becoming a professional golfer. He played for many years on the mini-tour circuit where he achieved some success. After his golf career, he worked for a subsidiary of his family’s company, G.O. Carlson, which was founded in 1936 by Mark’s grandfather, Gunard Oscar Carlson. Mark was very passionate and proud of the longevity and success of the family business. Later in his life, he realized another dream of his to own a golf store, in becoming owner of Palm Beach Golf Center.

Outside of professional life, Mark’s other passion was the Chevrolet Corvette. This all started when he received a 1969 Silver Corvette Stingray as a graduation gift after graduating from Rollins College. It came full circle when he purchased his own 2013 Hunter Green Corvette Stingray. He loved going fast in his car, even through all the ups and downs of his illnesses.

Mark was an absolute fighter, who battled his illnesses for years and years. His fighting spirit enabled him to have many years with his 5 grandchildren, Olivia, Delilah, Charlie, Cash and Funzy.

A private ceremony of remembrance was already held with immediate family; however a separate celebration of life will be scheduled to remember Mark at a later date.
