It is with profound sadness and unimaginable heartbreak that we announce the unexpected passing of Martin Bradley Garen, lovingly known to many as “Marty” or “Brad,” who passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 35.
Born on March 5, 1991, in St. Marys, Georgia, Martin lived a life filled with love, adventure, determination, and an unwavering devotion to those he held closest to his heart.
Martin graduated from William T. Dwyer High School and continued his education at Indian River State College, where he pursued his studies in Fire and Emergency Medical Services. His passion for helping others led him to further his education at Orlando Medical Institute, where he earned his paramedic license.
Throughout his career, Martin demonstrated exceptional dedication, intelligence, and leadership. He served as the Director of Emergency Management for IRG Global, where he had been employed for the past two years. His commitment to his profession reflected his natural desire to protect, serve, and make a difference in the lives of others.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Martin was a man who truly enjoyed life. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, cars, motorcycles, traveling, and hiking. He loved adventure, discovering new places, and creating unforgettable memories.
Martin was incredibly intelligent and possessed an endless curiosity about the world. He seemed to know a little something about everything and could surprise anyone with the most unexpected facts and knowledge. His wife, Melinese, especially cherished this about him, as she loved learning from him and seeing the world through his eyes.
Those fortunate enough to know Martin will forever remember his infectious smile and unforgettable laughter. He had the loudest, most genuine laugh, one that could fill an entire room and bring joy to everyone around him. His smile, warmth, and larger-than-life presence made him someone truly unforgettable.
But beyond his accomplishments, adventures, and the many lives he touched, Martin’s greatest achievement was the family he built and the unconditional love he gave them.
For 17 beautiful years, Martin shared his life with his beloved wife, Melinese Garen. Together, they built a life rooted in love, commitment, perseverance, and the joy of raising their six beautiful children.
To Melinese, Martin was so much more than a husband. He was her best friend, her greatest love, her teacher, her protector, and her safe place. He was the person she could always count on, the one who made even the hardest days feel a little easier simply by being there.
Martin loved his wife unconditionally. Through every season of life, every challenge, and every triumph, he never gave up. His love was steady, genuine, and unwavering. He was the man Melinese had dreamed of growing old with, and although their time together was heartbreakingly cut short, the love they shared will remain a part of her forever.
As a father, Martin was nothing short of extraordinary. His children were his pride, his joy, and his greatest blessings. He was their protector, their source of comfort, and the safe place they could always turn to. He worked hard, loved deeply, and made sure his family knew they were his greatest priority.
Martin had a remarkable ability to make those he loved feel protected, valued, and secure. He didn’t simply tell his family he loved them; he showed them through his actions, his sacrifices, his dedication, and his unwavering presence.
The love he poured into his children will continue to live through them. His wisdom, his laughter, his adventurous spirit, and the lessons he taught will forever remain part of who they are.
Martin leaves behind his loving wife of 17 years, Melinese Garen; his six cherished children, Martin Garen Jr., Jackey Garen, Eli Garen, Oliver Garen, Oakley Garen, and Sylvia Garen; his parents, Paul Douglas Garen and Charlotte Park Garen; his aunt, Susan Garen; and his uncle, John Garen, his father-in-law, Talton McQuitter, his mother-in-law, Sylvia McQuitter along with extended family, dear friends, colleagues, and countless others whose lives were touched by his kindness and love.
While Martin’s passing leaves a void that can never truly be filled, his legacy is one of unconditional love, strength, kindness, and devotion. His family will forever carry his memory in their hearts, his laughter in their minds, and his love in everything they do.
Thirty-five years was not nearly enough time for a man who had so much more life to live, so many more adventures to experience, and so much more love to give. Yet the impact of his life will extend far beyond the years he was given.
Martin was our protector, our safe place, our greatest blessing, and the heart of our family. His life was a gift. His love was unconditional. His laughter was unforgettable. And his memory will live on forever.
Seventeen years of loving you. A lifetime of missing you. Forever grateful that I got to call you mine.
Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to gather to honor and celebrate the beautiful life of Martin Bradley Garen on Friday, October 16, 2026. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
May we gather not only in sorrow, but also in gratitude for the memories, laughter, love, and beautiful legacy Martin leaves behind.
Forever 35. Forever Loved. Forever Our Marty.
