Mary Jean Canale
July 24, 1929 – September 4, 2019
Mary Jean Canale, 90 of Jupiter, Florida passed away September 4, 2019 surrounded by her family. Mary Jean was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Canale. Born in Oswego, New York, she was the daughter of Jessie Rose and Stanley Benjamin Alkenbrack. Mary Jean and Michael moved to Palm Beach County, Florida in 1979. They celebrated 50 happy years of marriage on May 24, 2002.
Mary Jean made friends wherever she went. She shared her husband’s love for the New York Yankees. They enjoyed many spring training games together. She loved all kinds of music, traveling, flower arranging, dancing, hosting parties, and loved the family’s numerous pets.
Mary Jean was employed by Boynton Builders, PBC Parks and Recreation, Merrill Lynch, Diane Freis, and Petunia Patch. Upon retirement she volunteered with many organizations including The VA Medical Center and AT&T Telephone Pioneers.
A great mother to her 3 daughters, she was always generous with her time, advise and help. She was not only our Mother, but our friend. We dearly miss her quick smile, humor and youthful attitude. That youthful spirit earned her the title of “feisty grandma” from her grandchildren.
Mary Jean is survived by 3 daughters, Karen Canale-Norris (James), Cynthia Adams (Allen), Mary Bruce (Thomas); grandchildren; Daniel Bruce (Jessica), Victoria Ramdeholl (Erick), Caroline Bruce Vianueva (Brandon); gwekogfbreat granddaughter, Harper Ramdeholl, sister-in-law Mary Canale Ghent and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jessie and Stanley Alkenbrack; husband, Michael J. Canale; aunt, Ethel Schuler, and daughter Linda Canale.
The family wants to thank Gigi and Sharon for their unending kindness and care of our Mother. We also want to express our gratitude to Dr. Rabiei.
