Mary Louise Hansen

Mary Louise Cheek Hansen passed away Monday, January 16, 2017. Born 1923 in Indianapolis, Mary moved at age 10 to Miami with her parents and siblings. She resided there until 1949 when she was joined in marriage to James Allison Hansen. Chicago was their home, raising five children there and eventually retiring to Jupiter, Florida. Mary and Jim were married 64 years and are now at peace together after Jim's passing in 2013.

Mary's life was a beautiful testament to her love of family and God. She dedicated her entire life to serving others and volunteer work through her children, her church and communities. Her joyful spirit and beautiful heart touched each life she encountered. Mary's foundation of faith gave her the strength and fortitude to unselfishly give to others in all of her days. She will be deeply missed as will the light she gave to many.

Mary is survived by her five children: James Jr. (Patricia), Scott (Karen), Mary Ellen, Kirk (Cathryn) and Claudia; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A private family service and celebration of her life will be held February 11. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the following:
