I randomly looked for Mike on Google today only to find that I missed him by about a year...He was a key factor in my career and I think of his wisecracks and guidance still.

So very sorry for your loss.

Dear Phyllis,

I was saddened to learn of Mike's death. Carol and I send our condolences to you and your family.

Phyllis, We will always remember the great times had with you and Mike.  I always felt that Mike would "have my back", a true friend.

It was a heartwarming experience attending the funeral Mass and burial and then the family gathering afterwards on Saturday on a glorious warm sunny fall afternoon outside Philly. I am happy to hear of all the beautiful comments by his former colleagues and friends. God bless you

Dear Phyllis and Family: Nancy & I were saddened to hear about Mike. Like many others at Merrill Lynch, Mike played an integral role in the development of my career. I had the good fortune to work for Mike for 9 years. I always admired his energy and competative nature. One of his greatest attributes was his concern for his co-workers and the enjoyment he got when OTHERS did well. He was especially proud of his family. May God Bless You and may he "Rest in Peace"

Mike was an instrumental part of my early career and a dear friend.  He gave me a nickname that, in some circles, is still used nearly 20 years later.  One of my favorite "Boland-isms" was Mike's view on Human Resources.  He was famous for saying "Feed the tigers, ride the horses and shoot the dogs."   Rest in Peace, Mike.  Thank you for everything you did for me.

I was so sorry to hear about your recent loss. I have such fond memories of Mike, as he was there for me from the beginning of my career at Merrill Lynch 23 years ago. Dear Phyllis,
When Mike came to the Jenkintown office as manager, he picked me as his sales manager. He saw something in me that I didn't see in myself. They were the very best years at Merrill Lynch - working with him everyday. He was funny & unpredictable, and he helped so many people achieve their dreams in the financial services industry. I was so glad to have seen both of you two years ago at the airport in Boca. I remember hugging him and telling him he was the best!

Jackie and I send our condolences. Mike was a big part of my Merrill Lynch career so many years ago...always appreciated his great sense of humor, which I am sure he never lost. He always was a "straight shooter" and I will always remember him with great fondness.  Richard Steinman

My prayers go out to the Boland family today.  Mike gave me, then a young kid out of college, my first job in financial services.  Although I've not spoken with him in 20 years, I'll remember him fondly.

We all go back aways - from Mike and I getting kicked out of the BOQ-at the Brooklyn Naval yard , getting an apartment in Queens ( the odd couple), and the many excursions and endless monopoly and trivia games that would go on  until the wee hours of the morning.
