

Nettie Spano, 87 years old, of Jupiter, FL, passed away on Tuesday the 23rd of June. Born in 1927 in New York, Nettie received her education and later worked for Ardsley High School in both food service and clerical. Nettie, a devoted wife of 69 years and a loving mother, delighted in good food and socializing. She and her husband were loyal members of the local bowling league for 25 years. Nettie marched in the yearly Ardsley Memorial Day Parade through her role in the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. Nettie’s passion for gardening was shown through her work with the Ardsley Garden Club as well as her own home. Friends were lifelong for Nettie and could regularly be found at her home for card games and backyard barbeques. Nettie was the central role of the family, hosting a weekly pasta night as well as all major holiday gatherings. Nettie was an active member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed cross-country traveling.
Nettie was preceded in death by her sister, Marian Dugan and her son, Michael A. Spano Jr. She is survived by her husband, Michael A. Spano Sr., daughter Carole Reed, grandchildren Gina Reed-Rivera, Ronald K. Reed, Christopher Spano (Rachel Spano) and Robert Spano (Amy Spano). Nettie was proud of her ten great-grandchildren, Felix, Zachary, Rilea, Macayla, Tristain, Sawyer, Gianna, and Troy, all who brought her great joy.
Viewing will be held Friday, June 26th from 5-8pm, at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 27th, 10:00am, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1701 Indian Creek Pkwy, Jupiter, FL 33458.
