Nina is preceded in death by her parents, Nina and Charles Beauchamp; her sister, Meriam “Tootie” Slater (2024) and her beloved grandson, Ryan Olsen (2020).
Nina was born on a warm, sunny Tuesday in Newport News, Virginia on July 14, 1936. Throughout her life she resided in several cities within Texas, Georgia, Hawaii, Florida, and North Carolina all of where she served her local church in different capacities such as singing in the choir, assisting with youth vocal groups, coordinating senior adult ministries and Wednesday night “Agape” suppers. In the early 1970’s, she was the assistant to Jess Moody at Palm Beach Atlantic College then later was assistant to the Senior Pastor at Northwood Baptist Church in West Palm Beach. Wherever Nina went, her steadfast servant heart and faithful service to others and to the Lord were unmistakable.
She met the love of her life, James Guy Minmier, at the Atlanta airport while on her journey home from a mission trip. Only a few months later, knowing it was the Lord who brought them together, they married on December 19, 1981, at Northwood Baptist Church in West Palm Beach. She was a devoted, loyal, wise, and encouraging wife. Their marriage was a beautiful example of deep abiding love, devotion, commitment and complete adoration. What a gift it was to witness their relationship.
Nina is survived by her husband, Jim of over 43 years; her children, three of which grew under her heart; Sheryl (Tom) Stanley of Marietta, Georgia, Laena (Saen) Olsen of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Angie Davis of Colorado Springs, Colorado as well as three that grew in her heart; Jay (Jess) Minmier of Burleson, Texas; Kim (Wayne) Simpson of Magnolia, Arkansas and William Minmier of Magnolia, Arkansas; grandchildren, Adam (Becca) Stanley, Rachel (James) Stone, Jared (Nina) Olsen, Bennett Haley and Brenner Haley; as well as six adored great-grandchildren. In them and through them, her legacy of faith and service lives on.
Nina’s life was not defined by what she did, rather her life was truly defined by her family, friends and most importantly her relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ. Anyone who knew Nina implicitly understood she had a few priorities and passions. First and foremost was her relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ. Throughout her life, her devotion and service to Him was evident and the fruit of her days was palpable. She clearly loved her Lord and living a life of service and submission to Him was paramount. Her other passion was the love of her life, Jim. Their love was one which should be modeled by most. It exemplified devotion, loyalty, deep abiding love, and encouragement.
It is impossible to measure the incredible impact Nina had on those who had the honor and privilege of knowing her. Her tenacity was unmatched. Her determination was deliberate. She was the epitome of strength, elegance, refinement, and grace coupled with a beautiful devotion to her family and faith. It is no surprise those who knew Nina were positively impacted for the better and will continue to be as a result of her strong character, faith and influence.
We will Celebrate the Life of Nina & James on Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL to honor this most amazing woman who is now rejoicing in heaven with her Savior.
