Normand Joseph Goulet Sr.

Normand proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his service, he co-founded United Centerless Grinding in 1960 alongside his brother Ralph. A dedicated and hardworking businessman, Normand built a legacy that continues through generations—his son, Normand J. Goulet Jr., assumed leadership of the company in 1995, and it is now carried forward by his grandson, Normand J. Goulet III.

He was the son of the late Arthur and Pamela Goulet and was predeceased by eight of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his brother, Maurice Donald Goulet of Lewiston, Maine and his wife Betty.

Normand was predeceased by his beloved wives, Doris Goulet and Lorina Goulet; his son, Robert Goulet; his daughter, Joanne Smith; his stepdaughter, Victoria Hamilton; and his stepson, Douglas Hamilton. He is survived by his son, Normand J. Goulet Jr. and his wife Mara, as well as his daughter, Theresa Goulet and her husband Donald Walker. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Kali Strouse, N.J. Goulet III and wife Melanie, and Nicole Goulet.

Known for his vibrant personality, Normand was truly the life of the party. He loved spending time with his family and was rarely found without a smile, especially when music was playing and he was dancing—something he enjoyed all the more when in good spirits.

In his younger years, Normand was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and boating. He especially treasured time spent at “the camp” in Dummerston, Vermont. In his later years, he embraced traveling and golfing, often sharing those experiences with his loved ones.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Normand’s life will be held on Sunday, May 3, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at VFW Post 10132, 6101 SE Dixie Highway, Hobe Sound, Florida. A memorial service will also be planned in Connecticut this July.

Normand will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of family, hard work, and joyful living will endure in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
