Patricia F. Amy, 84, of Tequesta, Florida, died on January 10th after a brief illness. Patricia (Pat) was born February 20, 1940 to William and Gladys Maher and raised in New York City. She met the love of her life, Vincent (Vinnie) Amy in the late 50s and they married in 1961. Pat and Vinnie started their life together in New York, and with their four children moved to Tequesta, Florida in 1974. A lifelong New Yorker at heart, Pat enjoyed a busy life raising her family, singing in her church choir, volunteering with the Jupiter Hospital Auxiliary (25 years!), and staying connected with family and friends.
In the mid 80's Pat embarked on one of her greatest achievements, going to college and graduating with honors with her Associate of Arts degree. College wasn't an option for Pat when she graduated from high school and returning to college was a personal victory.
Upon Vinnie's, retirement, Pat and Vinnie enjoyed becoming 'snow birds'. They summered on Long Island in the family home where Vinnie had grown up. Together they enjoyed going to shows, eating out and traveling. It's safe to say that those years were among the happiest the two of them enjoyed together.
Pat is survived by her four children: Pamela (Robert E. Cupp, decd.), Jennifer (Travis McCoy), Alicia (Randy Picard) and Douglas (DonnaMarie Amy), and her six grandchildren.
The Amy Family would like to express sincere gratitude to the caregivers and staff of Mangrove Bay for their compassionate care and support of Patricia Amy.
Pat will be buried next to her beloved husband, Vinnie. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Trustbridge Hospice Foundation: 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407 or https://trustbridge.com/give/
A graveside service for Patricia will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Rd, Tequesta, FL 33469.
