Born on March 30, 1945 in New York City, Pat was the eldest of three children. She grew up in the suburbs of New York, where she attended Ladycliff Academy and later Notre Dame College. Upon receiving her Associate’s degree, Pat became a Human Resources professional in New York City, eventually working for 20th Century Fox.
Pat married John Spinola on March 18, 1972; together they lived in over ten homes across six different states and raised two children, Kristin and David. A generous spirit, Pat became actively involved in her children’s schools as well as with local charities to run their fundraisers and events. Pat and John have been part of the Florida community for the last twenty years, as members of the BallenIsles Country Club, where Pat was active in the Ladies 9 holers, and most recently, a co-founder and organizer of Amici d’Italia.
Above all else, Pat was the center and heart of her family, and a loyal and trusted friend. She was an avid cook and gracious hostess, and consistently opened her home to friends and family. She loved nothing more than to be together with her children and was a proud Mema to her grandchildren, laughing, sharing advice, and making memories.
Pat was predeceased by her beloved sister Linda Carmody Roberts, her mother Olga Milone and step-father Victor Milone. She is survived by her husband, John J. Spinola of Palm Beach Gardens; her son David S. Spinola and daughter-in-law Kelly M. Spinola of Parkland, Florida; her daughter Kristin S. Shah and her son-in-law Bhavesh A. Shah of West Hartford, Connecticut; her four grandchildren, Julianne and Robin Spinola of Parkland, Florida, and Sofia and Gavin Shah of West Hartford, Connecticut; her brother William F. Carmody and sister-in-law Anne D. Carmody of New York; and her brother-in-law G. Hunter Roberts of Waccabuc, New York.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4 from 3 – 5 PM at the Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center at 1112 Military Trail in Jupiter, Florida. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 5 at 10:30 AM at the Cathedral of St. Ignacius Loyola, 9999 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
