Penelope Kahl Pohlman was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Penny will be remembered as a very kind, selfless and giving person. She was very attuned to the needs of her family and friends and was always eager to help in whatever capacity she could.
Penny was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Kahl. She was born in Staten Island, New York and grew up in Reisterstown, Maryland. She was raised with one sibling her brother, Bailey.
Penny worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. She was blessed with three children, one son, Nick, and two daughters, Dani and Michelle. Another blessing for her was the gift of four grandchildren, Shelby, Randi, Dylan and Daniel and two great grandchildren.
Penny attended Franklin High School where she graduated with the class of 1958. In high school she played field hockey.
Though she never set out to gain individual recognition, Penny was given the Civic Recognition Award for her many acts of compassion and kindness.
Penny's favorite pursuits were her animals. She was a lover of animals and cherished all her pets. Her family was rounded out by all her cats, dogs and birds. In her retirement she enjoyed breeding, hand feeding and raising love birds and cockatiels.
To know Penelope Kahl Pohlman was to love her. Her presence on the earth was cherished by all that knew her and although she will always be in her hearts she will be very missed!
Funeral services for Penelope will be held on Saturday, September 12th at 1 PM.
