69, of Palm Beach Gardens passed away on December 28, 2013.
Philip was a graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY. He served a long career as an officer in the US Merchant Marine sailing for a number of US Flag carriers traveling to every corner of the globe. He also served in the US Naval Reserve rising to the rank of Commander.
Philip will be greatly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Sue; his son Brian and wife Erin, son Doug; mother Marilyn B. Hitchens; brothers Ralph and Jay; sister Susan; grandchildren Briana and Gabriel.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 30th from 10-11 AM, with a funeral service to begin at 11 AM, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 3395 Burns Road, Palm Beach Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation at www.curemeso.org.
