

87 years, of Palm Beach Gardens, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010. Born March 5, 1923 in Albert Lea, MN, his family moved to Palm Beach County in 1925. Dick never wanted to live anywhere else. Dick married his high school sweetheart, Jane Caroline Pridham who preceded him to heaven in the year 2000.
Dick is survived by his children; daughter, Brenda Lloyd (widow of David G.) and her companion, Thomas Guzzone; son, Richard P. (Rick) and his wife Jackie; daughter, Elaine Minor and her husband, Lloyd, seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, all local residents. Also surviving are one niece and two nephews, numerous friends, including a group of Palm Beach High School buddies who meet on Fridays for lunch.
Dick graduated from Palm Beach High School class of 1941. Dick served in World War II in London, England and became a general contractor soon after returning from overseas. He was a member of the local Home Builders and Contractors Association for many years and served as their President before retirement. He built numerous homes and later, condominiums. Upon retirement, Dick was employed as a mediator for several home warranty companies, traveling the state of Florida. Dick loved his wife, his family, fishing and football, and in that order. When he worked, he worked hard and when played, he played hard. He enjoyed walking and talking to people he ran into. He didnÕt know any strangers and was loved and admired by all who knew him. Dick was a Member of the Masons for over 60 years.
A Memorial Service celebrating Dick's life will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the United Methodist Church, 815 East Indiantown Road, Jupiter, FL at 3:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Hospice of Palm Beach, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
He will be greatly missed.
