Russell "Frank" Jerd Jr.

Frank Jerd, born on December 16, 1941, in Potsdam, NY, peacefully departed this world in his sleep on July 17, 2026. Frank's journey through life was marked by love, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community.

Frank was the cherished son of the late Russell Frank Jerd, Sr. and Elizabeth Jerd. His early years in New York were filled with the joy of family life, alongside his siblings, John and Deborah, and his late brother, David. During his high school years, the family moved to Ohio where Frank lettered in football and track, met his future wife, Linda, and graduated from William Henry Harrison High School in 1958. He continued his education at Miami of Ohio and later graduated from Marshall University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. On June 8, 1962, Frank married his beloved Linda Lane.

This academic foundation led him to a successful career in technology and sales. Frank began his professional journey as a programmer with RCA. Joining Telex in the early 70s, he settled his family in South Jersey. During his 20 years with Telex, Frank’s talents and dedication swiftly propelled him up the ranks. In the mid-80’s, he achieved the prestigious position of Executive Vice President of National Sales, taking his family to Telex headquarters in Tulsa, OK. After leaving Telex, he spent the next 15 years in leadership positions for multiple technology companies. In retirement, Frank was able to spend more time in his lifelong passion for investing in the stock market.

Frank and Linda shared 64 beautiful years of marriage, raising two devoted sons, Mark and Matt, and traveling the world. Frank's legacy of love extends through his family, where his grandsons, Tyler and Blake, continue to carry his spirit forward. His family was his greatest pride, and he was always there to support them in any way they needed.

Frank's warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew him. He was an active member of The Bear's Club since its opening in 1999, where he found joy and camaraderie. His lifelong passion for sports was evident in his love of tennis, racquetball, skiing, golf and cards. Frank had an enthusiasm for reading and learning, always eager to expand his horizons.

He was a man of integrity and kindness, who valued friendships deeply and made every effort to nurture them throughout his life. His giving nature was a constant comfort to those around him, and his presence will be profoundly missed.

Frank is survived by his devoted wife Linda, his sons Mark (Tracie) and Matt, his brother John (Rhoda), his sister Deborah, and his grandsons Tyler and Blake. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother David, whom he now joins in eternal peace.

In accordance with Frank's wishes, a private family service will be held to honor his life.
