Shirley Anne (Murphy) Miller- Adamson, age 81, passed away March 15, 2016 in Jupiter, FL. Shirley was born to Genevieve Hammond and William James Murphy of Syracuse, NY on November 12, 1934. Shirley was a graduate of Fayetteville High School in 1950 and went on to attend Lemoyne College, she was among the first graduating class . She moved to Tequesta, FL later in life and was a longtime resident of Palm Beach County. She held many positions throughout her life including an airline stewardess, working on NY Stock Exchange, modeling, and a real estate agent. She was an avid golfer and involved with Hannah's Home and several other charitable organizations. She was a parishioner at St. Christopher's Church in Hobe Sound for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Nick Miller and Gen. James Adamson; her brother, Daniel Murphy; mother, Genevieve Murphy; and father, William Murphy. She is survived by her brothers, William James Murphy, Kevin (Mary Lou) Murphy, and Mark (Patricia) Murphy; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
