Harold and Sue moved to Jupiter in 1962 and lived in Hammond’s trailer park, where she met lifelong friends. She worked at the Big Dollar after having her two children, Deana Day (Brittain) and Steven Brittain. Sue then worked for Florida Power and Light for over 20 years.
Sue was an avid reader and filled our homes with many of well read books, sometimes she read them twice. Thankfully for us when the Kindle came along, she was well versed and loved the new technology of not having to wait for a book. She loved her computer games to, word games and Pogo were her favorite. But her pride and joy where her two children, Deana and Steve and her grandchildren, Kevin Day, Sarah Day, Angie Cruz (Edwards) and Steven Cruz. She was particularly very fond of her granddaughter Sarah Day, who would come over and spend lots of weekend’s playing cards, watching their favorite TV shows and ordering either outback or Chinese, mom loved this time with her. Sue also loved her dear friend, Dawn Davies. Dawn was almost like a sister, they could and would talk on the phone for hours or sit in the living room reminiscing about old times and what their husbands and kids put them through. Sue loved any kind of sewing, knitting and crocheting. Her favorite snack was peanuts and Doritos chased with a cold coke. Family was her life, she cared for her mother for several years, she cared for her husband for many years after they retired and it seemed she was always doing things for everyone else. I like to think these last couple years, my sister Deana Day, Carmen and myself really stepped up for her and I know she appreciated the love and care we gave until her passing. She is and will be missed by our entire family.
She is survived by her daughter, Deana and David Day; her son, Steven and Carmen Brittain; her brother, Butch Bruner; her sister, Betty Bruner-Hendricks; grandchildren, Kevin Day, Sarah Day, Angelica Cruz-Edwards and Clint Edwards and Steven Cruz; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, Harold Brittain; brothers, Dale Bruner, Leonard Bruner, Felton Bruner and Tom Bruner.
