

Vincent S. P. Amy, 91 of Tequesta, FL. died on January 16, 2024 after a brief illness. Vincent was born April 29, 1932 to Vincent and Mary Margaret ‘May’ (Sengens) Amy. Vincent lived in Manhattan with his family and summered in East Moriches, Long Island which became the permanent family home in 1946.
Early in his career, Vincent was a commercial fisherman. Vincent was drafted by the US Army in 1952. Upon working in field radio repair in Eritrea for the U.S. Army Signals Corps he grew an interest in geology and the environment. Vincent studied at the New Mexico School of Mines and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Geology, cum laude, from Hofstra College in 1960 and a Master of Arts in Geology from Columbia University in 1963.
Vincent joined Geraghty & Miller, Inc. as a Staff Geologist in 1961, going on to serve as Board Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Vice-Chairman until his retirement in 1994. Following his retirement, Vincent continued to work as an independent consultant and was awarded the Ben H. Parker Memorial Medal from the American Institute of Professional Geologists in 2016. The Ben H. Parker Memorial Medal is awarded to individuals for their long records of distinguished and outstanding service to the profession of geology.
Vincent is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia F. Amy. Together they enjoyed a long and loving marriage filled with a great deal of love and laughter. Vincent is also survived by his four children: Pamela (Robert E. Cupp, decd.), Jennifer (Travis McCoy), Alicia (Randy Picard) and Douglas (DonnaMarie Amy), and his six grandchildren.
Vincent will be remembered as a fisherman extraordinaire, a man who enjoyed chocolate pudding, a good Rum & Coke and a man that relished his time with his family.

A service will be held at Aycock – Riverside Funeral Center 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458 on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11 am. A private burial will follow.
