Wayne Sydney Evans, age 86, of Jupiter, Florida, passed away on March 17, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering support for his family. He was born on March 24, 1937, in Cooperstown, New York, the youngest son of the late William and Beatrice Collins Evans.
Throughout his life, Wayne demonstrated an incredible work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. He dedicated over two decades of his career as an insurance manager before venturing into a new endeavor, founding Kids Depot Realty. As a broker specializing in childcare and preschool facilities, Wayne positively impacted countless families and communities, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
A member of Christ Fellowship, Wayne found solace and strength in his faith. His love for sports, particularly football and basketball, was unparalleled. Wayne's passion for athletics was not only evident in his love for the game but also in his own achievements. He once held the prestigious New York state record for scoring the most points in a high school basketball game (65), a testament to his talent and determination on the court.
However, Wayne's greatest joy came from being a supportive husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a constant presence at his grandchildren's sporting events and performances, cheering them on with unmatched enthusiasm from the sidelines. His love and encouragement were unwavering, leaving a lasting impact on each member of his family.
Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved son, Terry Evans. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Evans, and children: Bill Evans, Darrell Evans, Jon Evans and wife Monique, Jerry Evans and wife Carol, Danielle Aronson and husband Brandon, and Krystol Evans Hare. He leaves behind a cherished legacy through his grandchildren: Denise Blanchard, J.R. Evans, Matt Evans, Lauren Williamson, Brock Evans, Justin Evans, Kyle Evans, Tyler Aronson, Leah Aronson, Parker Aronson, Juliette Hare, Scarlette Hare, and Beckham Hare, as well as 13 great-grandchildren. Wayne is also survived by his siblings, Floyd Evans and wife Joyce, and Darla Evans.
A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on Sunday, March 24th, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM at Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home, located at 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL, 33458. Burial will take place at Riverside Memorial Park, located at 19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, FL, 33469.
