Some of the earliest & favorite memories I have as a child was shared in the happy presence of your Dad.  I remember him very gentle and kind.  I am so thankful he remembered me after all these years.   I pray that God brings comfort to Aunt Eiko & you both.  


Although I didn’t know Wilbur Birdsall, I can honestly say that knowing his son Bart gives me a window into the person he was through life. Bart’s passion for life, sense of humor, compassion and honesty are a testament to the person who was so important in his upbringing....and knowing the loving care that Bart gave him in these last few years also reflects on Wilbur!  It’s rare to truly say that the respect and awe for this man is completely due to the son he raised to be a man I’m proud to claim a friend!
     



Thinking of you at this difficult time.  What a dedicated son you have been.  Have no regrets and treasure your memories 

I posted this on Facebook, but thank you, Dad, for being such a great dad! Thank you for playing with me and reading to me when I was little, teaching me names of different shells, teaching me to fish and hunt (yes, my friends will be shocked that I hunted and fished as a child....yes, this Opera Queen knows how to shoot, hunt, and fish.....well, I may have forgotten after 40+ years of not doing it), thank you for taking me camping, thank you for trying to turn me into a He-Man even though you failed, thank you for being totally accepting when I told you I was gay, thank you for instilling values of loving others, thank you for instilling the political mindset I have (you loved the Earth and all people all races), thank you for everything! You were the best dad ever!!!!
