

Mr. Johnson was born in Wiley Ford, West Virginia on November 16, 1937 to the late Edgar Johnson and Mary Seymour Johnson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son; Dennis Johnson and brother; Eddie Johnson.
Jake proudly served his country for twenty years and retired from the United States Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant. He is also a retired Postmaster of fifteen years with the United States Postal Service. Jake loved his family, loved fishing and hunting, and was a proud member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years; Norma Jean Kirk Johnson, daughters; Terry (Ray) Smith, Cristine (William Seale) Cornelius, sisters; Judy Deetz and Sandy Alumbaugh, eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
Family visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 pm immediately following visitation. Remains will be buried at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery in Flintstone, MD at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Legion, Tequesta, FL., Post 271 or to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
