William Hunter Girvan II

It is with great sorrow to say my beloved son, William Hunter Girvan II (Billy) has passed into God’s loving hands on January 6, 2023, in Jupiter, Florida. He is survived by his father Bill of Stuart, Florida, sister Betsy McMillan, her husband Chris and their children Sully and Gavin of Punta Gorda, Florida, and brother Gregg, his wife Ashley and their children Emma, Alex, and Ethan of Austin, Texas. He was predeceased by his mother, Jean and younger brother, David.

Billy was born on May 16, 1973, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and moved to Tequesta, Florida, at age 3. He spent happy childhood years with his many friends and a loving family in the Jupiter area. He graduated from Jupiter High School in 1991, where he was a standout soccer player. After high school, he went on to college at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami where he continued playing soccer for the University.

After a few semesters at FIU, Billy decided it was time to explore the world and moved to Vail, Colorado, where he became a quite proficient snow boarder. Billy soon realized that being a “ski bum” in Vail was not going to pay the bills for long, so he moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado, to complete college at Colorado State University.

After graduating from Colorado State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science, Billy moved back to the Jupiter area and started his Premier Health and Fitness company. He worked for many years as a personal trainer for both private clients as well as local gyms. Billy had a wide circle of friends, enjoyed playing golf with his father and friends, and became an accomplished poker player. He really loved his newest friend, a Belgian Malinois named Champ.

Billy was a caring and loving person, a genuinely nice guy who will be sorely missed by his wide circle of friends and by his loving father, sister and brother and their families.

A visitation for his family and friends will be held at Aycock Funeral Home in Jupiter on Saturday, January 21, from 1 to 4pm. Donations in Billy’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
