As we celebrate the life of William D. Leo, affectionately known as Bill, of Jupiter, Florida, we remember his strength, his deep love of family, his friendliness, and his loyalty that touched the lives of all who knew him. Bill passed away very early Sunday morning April 7, 2024, in the care of hospice. He was 77 years young.
Born in Bronxville, New York on September 1, 1946, Bill was the son of the late Charles R. Leo Jr. and Barbara Linabury Leo. He graduated from Albertus Magnus High School and then attended and graduated from the State University of New York at Delhi. While at Delhi, Bill met Diane Clune; they were married on May 6, 1967. After their marriage, Bill served in the U.S. Navy. Following his military service, Bill and Diane settled in Florida, NY. There he became owner of the three-generation, family-run business, Ward Pavements, Incorporated.
Bill was a loving father to his son, William Leo, Jr. (Joann) and his daughters, Jennifer Stine (Chris) and Colleen Leo (Kenny). He had seven beautiful grandchildren, Lauren, Jake, Devin Marie, Christopher (”CJ”), Matthew, Thomas (“TJ”), and Kelly. Bill also leaves behind a legacy of Leos— his brothers Charles Leo lll ( Grace), James Leo, Thomas Leo (Barbara), and his sister Barbara Leo (Bob).
Bill loved golfing, being with his family and friends, crossword puzzles, the Tiki Hut, Sunday brunches, Weber grilling, Sunni Sands, and race days at the historic race track in Goshen, NY.
Private celebrations of Bill’s life will take place in Florida and New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the Goshen Historical Race Track, 44 Park Place, Goshen, NY 10924 or to the American Legion Post No.1250, Cohen Circle, Florida NY 10921.
