Alfred “Pedong” was predeceased by his siblings Caroline “Carling” (Isaac) Tacotaco, Anasita “Rose”(Jorge) Oasay, Jose “Joe” Lucero, Rogelio “Roger” (Helen) Acpal, Josefina “Josie” (Jose) Salvador, and Anthony “Tony” Acpal.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Anita Rico Acpal; children, Jeremy (Rachelle) Acpal and Janelle (Kelly) Davison; siblings, Carmen (Bruce) Hipshire, Teodorico “Ted” (Faye) Acpal and Artemio “Timmy” (Dawn) Acpal; grandchildren, Evan Davison, Kaira Davison, Sean Lacuesta, Joel Lacuesta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alfred was a graduate of Baldwin High School, Class of 1970. He was employed at Maui Land & Pineapple Company, HC&S, Ameron, and retired from Maui Electric Company as a Combination Certified Welder. As a Formal Member of King’s Cathedral, he served in whatever way he could, helping to build the current church building and its Molokai and Honokaa extensions.
A Celebration of Life will be held at King’s Cathedral on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Family viewing is at 8:30am to 9am. Public viewing is at 9am to 10am. Service is at 10am to 11am. Lunch to follow in the church lobby.
