Alice Jaquez Wagner, 88, of Kula Maui, passed away on February 3, 2012, at Hale Makua, Wailuku. She was born on March 9, 1923, in La Junta, Colorado. She worked as a foreperson at Merit Abrasives for 25 years. In her retirement she worked as a bilingual aid in the California Public School system. Upon her arrival to Maui she worked at Kula Botanical Gardens. She is survived by her youngest daughter, Nancy Ann Jaquez de Chavaria; step-son, Jack Wagner & wife Bobbie; three grandchildren, Faith Ewbank, Matthew Valdez, Mariah Leilani Jaquez Loftin; five great grandchildren, Alicia, Kamalani, Erica, Kamaile, and Pablo. She was preceeded in death by her eldest daughter, Alice-Jean Valdez. She was a hanai grandma to many and better known as "Grandma Alicia"
