Christine Kuulei Tavares of Makawao, Maui passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. Services will be at Ballard Family Mortuary on December 27, 2024 from 5:00pm-9:00pm.
Christine was born on October 13, 1941 in Waihee, Maui. She was retired from the Maui Intercontinental Hotel as a Housekeeper. She enjoyed her sewing, crochet, singing, being with family, but most of all doing her church work. The Lord came first. She will be missed by many who have known her.
Christine is predeceased by husband, Richard Henry Tavares Sr.; daughters, Verna Marie (David) Freitas III, Cheryl-Ann (Edward) Fernandez Jr., Maelina Araneta; sons, Richard Tavares Jr., Ricardo (Daisy) Tavares Sr., and Ryan (Holly) Tavares. 19 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Sisters, Marilyn Medeiros and Eliza Maukele; brothers, Clyde Kahalehau, Ralph Kahalehau and Clinton Makee. Numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and hanai children.
