Family and friends are invited to gather at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Paia, on Thursday, November 7, 2013, with visitation at 9:00 am; Mass 10:30 am; followed by burial at Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao. Borthwick Norman’s Mortuary assisted with arrangements.
He was a retired Fire Captain with the Maui Fire Department and served his country with the U.S. Army, Company K, 442nd Infantry Regiment.
He is survived by his wife, Corazon Matsumoto; sons, Dwight (Rosemary) Matsumoto and Leslie (Valerie) Matsumoto; daughters, Stephanie (Ino) Medrano and Yvonne (Clayton) Lee; sister, Chizue “Sue” Smith; grandchildren: Liane Nakamura, Nicholas Matsumoto, Nadine Lee and Sara Matsumoto,; great-grandchildren, Heather Matsumoto, Cadie Seyler and Kylan Nakamura.
