

Clifton L. K. Kane Sr, known to many as “LeRoy”, 81, passed peacefully on Saturday, November 02, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 18, 1943, to Herman Kaanohiokala Kane and Clara Francis Kapuanani Kane.LeRoy is survived by his wife, Johnelle Kane of 59 years, sons Clifton L.K. Kane Jr (Doreen Kane) and William Bert K. Kane (Eva Marie Kane) and daughter Donelle Kane. His had 10 grandchildren and 1 great- grandson. His is also survived by two sisters: Linda Kaʻimikaua and Mahealani Kane.He was predeceased by his father Herman, mother Clara, sister Ruby and brother Richard.LeRoy was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the National Guard. During his youth, LeRoy embraced his paniolo style of life, where he had the opportunity to ride his horse in many parades as a pacer. He retired from Associated Steel, as an Ironworker, only to take on yet another job. He loved his next job as a tour guide to Hana and played the role of “Aunty Lolo” as he entertained the tourists and became well known for just being crazy. Above all, the love he had for his family will be cherished by them forever.LeRoy’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Ballard’s Mortuary. Viewing for the family will be from 9:00 AM -10:00 AM. Viewing for the public will be from 10:00AM - 11:00AM. His Memorial Service will be from 11:00AM - 12:00 noon.Burial will follow at Makawao Veteran’s Cemetery.Lunch will be held thereafter at 610 Laau St., Kahului.
