Daniel “Boogie” Aloysius Costa Jr., 85, of Hilo passed away on March 2, 2022 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired fire captain with the Honolulu Fire Department and a sales associate at Sears Ala Moana. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean War.
He is survived by children, Yvette Broadhead of Wyoming and Derrick Costa of Honolulu; stepsons, Paul “Sumio” Nagata and Jason Savella both of Honolulu; brothers, Joseph “Pete” (Laverne) Costa of Hilo, Robert “Bobby” (Rossann) DeCosta of Kahalu’u, Oahu; sister, Audrey “Kookie” DeMello of Hilo, in addition to three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Private Services were held.
