Our beloved brother David Pakaki, 56, of Lahaina, Maui Hi. Has passed & was called home to be with Our Lord on February 15, 2025 in Wailuku, Hi. He was born on December 13, 1968 in Wailuku, Hi and raised in Lahaina. Predeceased by Parents Angeline Ortega Pakaki, Edward B. Pakaki sr. siblings Edward jr./aka son, and Ernest. He is survived by his siblings Sylvia, Pearl, Anson, Ruby(Joe), Myeron, Haunani, Johnalyn(Byron). Also, 14 nieces, 13 nephews, and numerous cousins.
David adored & loved Lahaina town is where he was most happy. He was proud of Lahaina community where he volunteered & contributed towards helping & maintaining its town & environment. On August 8, 2024 David, without hesitation was steadfast to help sacrificing himself to save others during the horrific fire in Lahaina. He felt there was a purpose for him being there, and was blessed to be of help. He too, sustained injuries, sadly & needed medical attention & was hospitalized for it. As a caring human, anything that was given to David he shared, if he found anything he’d give it to others that could find use for it.
He was generous & very resourceful. David was able to achieve many certificates & obtain his GED. His choice of work was upholstery, maintenance and landscaping. His hobbies were playing chest, dominos, collecting old coins, practicing tai chi & capoeira. He valued family time, get togethers, and friendships is what made him joyful & content. He loved rap music & enjoyed music of all genres.
As his sister, I was honored to have cared for my brother at the age of nine due to our mother’s illness. Always looking after & caring for him making sure he was dressed & ready for school making sure he gets home safely & taught him to be kind, caring & loving.
His journey on this earth was one marked by love and his unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. He will be remembered as a fighter of life, heart of gold, loyal to the core, a giver, and a true brother. He possessed a contagious laugh that was unique & a gentle smile.
David's kindness, generosity, and deep compassion for his family and friends will always be remembered. It’s not good bye, it’s a hui hou till next time. Save me a seat till then.
Be blessed lil brother RIL love
Loving you, sis Ruby

(Matthew 5:4)Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted, also (Revelation 21:4) He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
(Ecclesiastes 3:11) says, He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
This verse reminds us that God's plan for us is greater than our current circumstances.
