
Donald Salvatore Alicata was born December 25, 1933 in Buffalo, New York, and spent many years in Glendale and San Diego, California. Don served in the U.S. Navy and retired from American Savings Bank as a bank executive. Don lived with his family on Maui since 2004. Don is predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Marie (Polizzi) Alicata, and his sister Joan Bagg. Don is survived by his son Daniel (Marilou) Alicata, daughter Michele (Gregory) White, sister Gail (Lee) Boydston, brother Lawrence Alicata, son Salvador Alicata, three grandsons, two great-grandsons and the mother of his children Renata Foster-Au. Don will be remembered for his kind spirit, sharp wit, and the love for his ohana. Don was a loving and compassionate person who will never be forgotten and who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Don passed in God’s loving care on November 8, 2016 at Wailuku Hale Makua. Don Alicata’s ohana sends their sincerest mahalos to their friends and staff at Hale Makua for their exceptional care and compassion while he lived with them.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Ballard Family Mortuary, Kahului, prayer service will begin at 11 a.m.
