

Donna was known for her strong personality and golden heart. Her no nonsense attitude made her a one of a kind soul. Her family and close-knitfriends love her for her willingness to always be of assistance even if it means it would interfere with her needs and addendum. She was a hardworker and a survivor with morals and beliefs that set her aside from others. Giving her all was her nature to all that she loved and respected.
Donna is survived by her daughters Sallyann Gomes-Borden and Alana Lavaka. Seven grandchildren, Tehani (Brandon) Kuhaulua, Liana Freitas,Leo Lavaka, Tebreana Lavaka, Laila Lavaka, Katalina Lavaka, and Taumata’o Lavaka. Two great grandchildren, Kulia Freitas-Santiago andKanaloa Phillips. Sister, Wanda Prepose and brother, Shayne (Paula) Kahahane. She is also loved by her many Aunties, Uncles, cousins, niecesand nephews.
Donna is predeceased by her parents Henry and Winona Kahahane, her brothers Daryl Kahahane and Elwyn “Bobo” Kahahane.
Donna is a proud graduate of Lahainaluna High School Class of 1969. She attended many Class Reunions which at times she was the “ringleader” andheld a close friendship with many of her classmates for over 55 years.
Donna retired from the Maui Police Department, Lahaina District as a PSA in 2014. She also worked for the Lahaina Post Office, Aston Maui Islanderand Lanai City Service on Lanai.
She was a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley, was known to frequent Las Vegas and, was also a member of an elite group of ladies that played friendlypoker games for over a 40-year span.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Ballard Family Mortuary, 440 Ala Makani Street, Kahului, Hawaii. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held on a later date.
