Dr. Robert Joe Harrison

Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Waiola Congregational Church in Lahaina, with a memorial service at 3 p.m. A reception will follow until 6 p.m. in the church hall.

Dr. Harrison graduated from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and practiced medicine at Levelland Clinic and Hospital in Levelland, Texas, for 15 years. In 1973 he became a partner in the Maui Medical Group and retired in 1999.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Cherry Anne Forrest Harrison; daughters, Paula (Gary) Hays of Chiang Mai, Thailand, Cindy (Doug) Schenk of Wailuku, Susan (Ibrahim) Dik of Honolulu, and Martha (Scott) Tipton of Fort Collins, Colorado; grandchildren, Cristina Schenk, Kevin (Ashley) Schenk; John Tipton, Susan Tipton; hanai-granddaughter, Jenny Pickett; great-grandchildren, Emma and Aukai Schenk.
