Edward Lawrence Podesta

Sunday October 19th Edward Podesta, Son of Adolph Podesta and Irene Montali, and brother of Robert Podesta (Paula) passed away after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his life partner Paul Mojica.

Edward will be missed by his three nieces, Theresa Murray (Patrick}, Mary (Noreen O 'Donnell), Ann Berkeley (Jamal), his three great nieces, and five great nephews.

Edward was born in San Francisco, attended St. Vincent de Paul elementary school, St. Ignatius High School, and the University of San Francisco. Thereafter Ed worked in San Francisco for the Western Pacific RR, Bank of America, and managed a group of retail stores located in the Bay Area. During this time he lived in Mexico City for a while and taught English to Mexican businessmen planning to work in the United States. They returned to San Francisco with their pet parrot, Paco.

Ed and Paul moved to Maui twenty six years ago and made the Kaanapali area of West Maui home. Ed loved daily swims in the Pacific, cars and driving them, and plenty of time to pursue painting and other art interests. Ed loved the feral cats that lived near his home. They knew that any time they came by a meal would happen.

Ed will be remembered for his quick wit, his, unfiltered honesty, and unending generosity.
